Advanced Split-Sheath Design Provides These Features:
- A high temperature alloy split-sheath with a unique ability to expand
for maximum heat transfer.
- A continuous nickel-chromium resistor element. No cold spots or cold
ends, as found in conventional cartridge heaters.
- Magnesium oxide electrical insulation of the highest possible density -
96% of theoretical.
- Lead connections welded to the resistor, exiting through continuous
insulation that can be bent sharply at the heater without exposing the
conductors.
- The result? A superior cartridge heater offering longer life,
uniform temperatures, and easy installation in the tightest spots.
Benefits to Your Heating Process
- Longer Life- When energized the opposing heater legs push apart,
locking into contact with the surrounding bore for maximum heat transfer.
Cooler operation means longer service life.
- Easy Removal- When de-energized the heater legs contract,
breaking contact for slide-out removability. SunRods are guaranteed never to
seize !
- Uniform Heating- The continuous resistor provides consistent heat
along the heater body. Even the tip is heated, providing uniform heat to
your process.
- Heat Wherever You Need It- SunRods can be built in lengths down
to 1/2 inch. Just drill a small bore and slide in a Hot
Tip SunRod!

the split-sheath cartridge heater.
Service
Mor Electric Heating provides application assistance to ensure the proper
heater selection for best performance. If a non-stock heater is required,
Sun will design, build and ship on a rush basis.

Quality
All heater designs are computer-generated to ensure consistent quality from
lot to lot. Additionally, Every unit is subjected to stringent in-process
testing and to multi-point quality assurance tests prior to shipment.
All Sun Electric heaters are marked with a customer-readable date code for
warrantee verification.
